Last week was Pinky’s Half Birthday! I can’t believe she is already 18 months! Last year we celebrated at Mission Bay with a fun beach themed picnic. This year, we celebrated with a intimate family dinner and a turtle cake for dessert. She’s been crazy about turtles and it seemed to fit perfectly with the ‘half’ theme as the opening song for the Ninja Turtles came to mind…”turtles in a half shell, turtle power!”
Here’s how we celebrated her day, in no perfect order…
Going along with the celebrant’s favorite things. We had her fave dish…noodles!
Before dinner, we watched elephants bathe, stood face-to-face with zebras and horses…
went grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s…
picking up turtle cakes, eating free chocolate chip cookies and running errands…
and played outside in the sun with cousin Aari…
Although Pinky doesn’t understand the Half Birthday concept, it doesn’t matter, because she loves it. We sang Happy Birthday to her FOUR times…so she got to blow her candles out, or attempt to blow the out FOUR times! And after each time the fire went out, she cried…mooore! Fortunately for her, we had to do it all over again for Grandma.
Thank you to our immediate families who made it to our humble and tiny abode to celebrate the Half Birthday of our dear Pinky! Thank you for loving her, caring for her and for taking lots pictures and videos! We love you so, so much!
Right NOW, we celebrate the ones we love and for all I know my Pinky can have her cake and eat it too…for now at least! CHEERS!
