We partnered with Whiskey Girl San Diego to help plan an epic bachelorette weekend for my sister. They provided a few complimentary items to accommodate our group for a night out on the town as well as Sunday brunch. All opinions are my own.
I feel like all we’ve been talking about lately is my sister’s wedding. And that’s okay. Weddings are always an exciting time, right? It’s a busy time, an expensive time, but it’s also a very fun time. From the engagement to all the pre-wedding festivities like the bridal shower, bachelor/ bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner and of course the wedding day itself.
So much detail goes into planning a wedding and whether you like it or not, there are many people and personalities involved. Before I had kids, I was in the wedding business. I planned a lot of weddings including my own wedding so I’ve seen both sides of the spectrum on how stressful things can get. In my experience, I’ve learned that the two most important things for everyone involved in the celebration are 1) to remember to be supportive and 2) have FUN!
Last month’s pre-wedding festivity was; you guessed it the infamous bachelorette party! And we had a lot of fun. If you’re lucky like I am, your bride has chosen an awesome bridal squad to help plan and support each one of her pre-wedding events, and more. We all came together to make her final fling special and memorable.
We decided to stay in America’s Finest City because there’s already so much to do here. I’ve hosted and been to several events downtown at a variety of venues; but one of my personal favorites is Whiskey Girl San Diego. They know how to throw a party, and I knew I’d be able to trust them with my sister’s!
I love Whiskey Girl for so many reasons! Here’s why planning a bachelorette weekend with them made complete and total sense! If you’re planning a party or weekend celebration you’ll want to take notes. Enjoy!
4 Reasons Whiskey Girl San Diego is the Best Place to Celebrate
The Nightlife. San Diego nightlife is so diverse. There are some places where dress code is highly enforced and other places where you can come as you are. I love the cool vibes at Whiskey Girl, although we were totally dolled up for the occasion, it was nice to be surrounded by people who were just looking for good drinks, a good time and dancing. I love dancing! It’s one of those places where everyone in your group is guaranteed to have a great time. Tunes are spun most nights by resident DJ, Marc Thrasher featuring top 40 hits and music videos!
Whiskey Girl offers a variety of party packages for special events including bachelorette parties which makes planning a breeze. I was able to reserve a table for our party of 15 the week of our event, although I recommend reserving much sooner if possible. Our table was in the center of the bar, and looked like an old long board, how cool is that? Special thanks to Nory Lee for the awesome nightlife photos.
By reserving ahead a time, you get the VIP treatment – no lines, no cover and some fun party favors for the bride-to-be to make her stand out! Check out my sister’s crown and hot pink boa! The sash was a gift from one of her bridesmaids.
If you’re reserving for a large group, I highly recommend bottle service. It’s so much better than having everyone order drinks individually or waiting at the bar. You can always coordinate ahead of time with your party to see how much they are willing to pitch in. We had champagne and bottle of vodka which came with a variety of chasers. Red Bull is already included, but you can add up to 2 or 3 other options. We went with cranberry juice and orange juice. You’ll also have a designated server to help you pour.
Brunch & Bottomless Pink Lady Mimosas. Not only is Whiskey Girl fun for a night on the town, but it’s an amazing spot for brunch. You can’t say this about a lot of places. If only you could sleep there. They a have nice Sunday brunch menu and it’s very affordable. Plus their signature Pink Lady Mimosas made with guava juice are delicious! $10 gets you bottomless mimosas from 10am to 2pm. You better believe we had our fair share! Not only is the menu decently priced, it actually tastes good too! I can vouch for the San Diego Burrito. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. It’s made with eggs, tater tots, carne asada, guacamole, sour cream, salsa fresca and cheese, because you can’t have a burrito without cheese. The Hot Mama Sliders and the calamari with their chipotle aioli (not a brunch item) are also very good.
During brunch we played two games of BINGO! It was a pleasant surprise. We didn’t win anything, but it was super fun!
They have Karaoke. Oh you know the party is poppin’ when someone gets on the mic for karaoke. It’s on when they play your song! We didn’t brave the public mic, but it was fun going through the books trying to decide which song to sing and of course watching others perform after a few sips of liquid courage. We did however, step into the Karaoke booth, yes the karaoke booth! There were 6 of us for brunch and we all fit in there comfortable. You can pick from a few songs, sing you’re heart out in a semi-sound proof booth and then get your photos taken and emailed to you. It’s so much fun, and you’ll have lots of great photo opportunities, especially after a few of those Pink Ladies have gotten into your system!
You can’t beat their Southern California hospitality. I’ve been to a lot of places, heck we went to a few other places the same night and didn’t receive half as much of the courtesy and love as we did from Whiskey Girl and their staff. My sister and her guests were very impressed with the way we were treated and taken care of.
Honestly, you just can’t go wrong at Whiskey Girl! This is the second bachelorette party we’ve hosted here. The last one was for my cousin back in 2012. Four years later we came back to celebrate my sister. That says a lot about a place. You will make memories and have fun here. They are so versatile and as you can see can accommodate you for a night on the town and/or a nice brunch or lunch! Thank you for existing and for taking care of us, Whiskey Girl San Diego!
