It is hard to believe that our little Pinky will be 13 months old this Valentine’s Day! Where did the time go? We had such a wonderful time planning her 1st Birthday Party, and we are so grateful to all of our family and friends who shared it with us.
With all the 2010 holiday festivities, it was quite the challenge to get Pinky’s Party all set up, but I was up for the task. Planning and parties is what I do! I had so much fun, and so did Pinky!
We decided, actually, Pinky decided to go with the Sesame Street theme over the Kail-Lan theme. I printed out a picture of each group of characters and naturally, she gravitated to the Sesame Street Gang!
My inspiration for the party was everything fun, bright and colorful. Pinky had to wear a tutu. And Mommy just had to build a candy buffet for the kids. I felt like a little kid again brainstorming ideas, looking at inspiration boards, shopping for goodies, oh my!
Back to the real reason for this party…our PRECIOUS PINKY! She had absolutely no idea what was going on; and it was just so fun to see things unfold right before her eyes. As she woke up to the big Sesame Street bounce house on my parent’s lawn, when she realized that everyone was singing Happy Birthday to HER, as she opened her gifts! Her eyes lit up and her smile so bright, to see and feel that she was truly surrounded by the people who love her most. I loved watching her. I will admit though, on the day of the party, I missed her so much. Being a host and being a mommy is a lot to juggle. Good thing she has a lot of Aunties, Uncles and Grandparent’s to care for her.
We did have a nice family dinner on the evening of Pinky’s actual Birthday at Buca di Bepo, complete with a Hello Kitty cake for dessert! HK is one of her other faves. She was tired, but she still enjoyed herself very much. Finally, after her party came and went, Mommy and Daddy took Pinky to the San Diego Zoo. She had so much fun, she wanted to be ONE with the animals.
Here are a few photos from Pinky’s party! Enjoy, and thank you again to all of the loving people who made Pinky’s celebration exciting, successful and most of all memorable!
