LoveBook | The Gift of Love in a Book

I love stumbling upon new and unique gifts for friends and family. I can’t take credit for finding this one though.

Pinky and I were looking online for ideas to celebrate her 7th birthday! She had already been creating her own books and writing her own stories, so naturally LoveBook caught her eye.

She stopped me in a frenzy and said, “What’s that?! Go back!” And I’m glad she did.

What is a LoveBook?

A LoveBook is a book you create and customize for that special someone in your life. They make it so fun and so simple in a few easy steps.

Use the LoveBook Creator to build a book of reasons why you love someone. Choose from several pre-populated pages you can edit, or start from scratch if you’re feeling creative.

LoveBook offers a variety of images and clip art you can use, but the fun part is creating your “characters” which are basically stick figures of the people in your story.

How It Works

Once we found LoveBook, Pinky begged me to learn more about it. She wanted to make a book for her brother. Sweet, I know right?! I immediately knew I had to make one for her birthday.

I opened an account and we started to explore the process for creating a personalized book. I was surprised at how easy it was. Even a soon-to-be 7 year old could make one.

Here’s a screenshot of some of the pages Pinky created for her book. Little did she know we were creating one for her too.

So, how does it work? As I mentioned LoveBook makes it easy to create a book in a few simple steps.

Step 1: Create your characters! Yes, they’re stick figures, but you get to give them attributes that remind you of the people in your story.

Step 2: Decide if you want a hard cover or a soft cover. There’s a $10 difference, but I went with the hard cover. Here you will also choose your cover design.

Step 3: Choose your pages and personalize away! You can rearrange pages if you need to later. *I have to warn you, if you’re making a book with your child be aware of the categories you choose to pre-populate your pages. You might stumble across content that is not appropriate for young eyes. You can imagine how many lovers create their special stories using LoveBook! 

Step 4: Preview your book and make adjustments or edits as needed. I love that LoveBook stops you to make sure you do this. Once you give the approval the book sent to production where it is professionally bound and then shipped to you.

Step 5: Give! Give your gift and watch your recipient laugh, read and thumb through the pages of their own personalized book by you filled with love, inside jokes and fun versions of themselves.

Our Story

I would do anything for my little girl. I knew this book would be special and something she could hold onto for years to come, something she will appreciate no matter how old she is.

This was the perfect gift for our little creative, artistic and sweet girl. She loved reading all the reasons why Mommy, Daddy and little brother loved her. It made her feel special and loved that we took time to create this book for her.

With LoveBook you have the freedom to create your book however you like. Ours started our with a birthday greeting from all of us. Then we broke it down into three sections of birthday love from each family member individually.

When asked which page was Pinky’s favorite…it was the one I created of her dad farting! Sorry, Daddy! I almost took it out because he asked me why I did that, but I’m so glad I left it in there.

The ways to use LoveBook are pretty endless. I hope they add more images and clip art to their inventory and eventually use both sides of the page, but other than the the experience was great. I love their cleaver and helpful emails about the status of my order.
