I’ve always had a soft spot for Broadway. The big lights, the performers, the music the stage. It’s all so fascinating for me. I love how it all comes together.
I remember when I watched RENT at the movies back in 2005. It was such a treat since my husband and I didn’t really have a lot of time or money to make it to the live shows. We were still planning for our wedding back then. So you can imagine how broke we were.
As much as I loved the movie which featured most of the original cast including Idina Menzel and Anthony Rapp. I am so excited to see RENT live on Broadway.
Now, over a decade later, we are grown, married and have two kids! We are totally going to see the RENT Anniversary Tour here in San Diego playing from January 10-15, 2016. Can we say date night?
About RENT
“In 1996, an original rock musical by a little-known composer opened on Broadway… and forever changed the landscape of American theatre. Two decades later, Jonathan Larson’s RENT continues to speak loudly and defiantly to audiences across generations and all over the world.
With its inspiring message of joy and hope in the face of fear, this timeless celebration of friendship and creativity reminds us to measure our lives with the only thing that truly matters—love.”
I love that this is going to be the first Broadway show we see this year mainly because of that last line about love. This show is going to be a great reminder that we should never give up on our dreams no matter how challenging the journey. And that love is always the answer to everything!
