Yup! Love, lace and lingerie.
I can’t believe my sister is getting married in June! Our family is so excited. It seems just like yesterday we were planning her engagement party, and talking about how fast the wedding day would come. That was about a year and a half ago my friends. Time flies and moments like this slowly creep up on us, jolting us into a new chapter of our lives.
As the oldest of five kids I have learned to take my duties as big sis very seriously, and when she asked me to be her Matron of Honor I was well, honored to say the least. Last month, along with friends and family, I had the pleasure of showering her with love, lace and lingerie!
Lingerie Bridal Shower
If you don’t already know I love to plan parties! One of the first things I asked my sister when she got engaged was, “what theme do you want for your bridal shower?” With no hesitation she said, “lingerie!” Heyy! The bridal team and I went to town with ideas. Knowing my sister wanted something simple and sexy, but very classy, we took to Pinterest and the bride-to-be’s personality for inspiration.
“So what is a lingerie shower? I thought we were having a bridal shower?” my mom asked! We went on to explain that yes we are indeed hosting a bridal shower, but it will involve all things lingerie. We encouraged friends and family to bring intimates (panties, bras, etc.) as gifts. The theme influenced the games we played, prizes given, and of course the décor.
For the classy look we decided to go with a color pallet that included blush pink, mint green, along with some gold, neutral and peach tones. With a sprinkle of lace, pearls and ribbon everything tied together just nicely. A lingerie bridal shower was the perfect way celebrate my sister while helping her prep for life as a sexy married woman, and of course for the honeymoon!
Here’s some inspiration for you from the shower. Enjoy!
I created all the signs for the lingerie bridal shower using Canva. It’s a free photo editing tool that’s available online and it’s very easy to use, especially if you’re familiar with tools like Photoshop or PicMonkey. They have a lot of great fonts and a decent selection of free images. They also have some for purchase. Here’s the sign I made for the Mimosa Bar, you can download it for free here. It will print as an 8×10. You’re welcome.
The Mimosa and Margarita Bar was a big hit, I mean, why wouldn’t it be?! One of my sister’s long time friend and bridesmaid, Mama D really dressed the bar up with personalized champagne labels, mini chalkboard labels for the toppings and drinks. For classy, fun and most importantly affordable look we used washi tape to write guest’s names on their champagne glasses. I was so excited to find the colors that matched our pallet.
These little centerpieces made a big impact! Like many of you, I have a love-hate relationship with the dollar section at Target. This time it was love at first sight when I found these vases in the perfect color. Thanks to my other sister for picking them up! To fit the love, lace and lingerie theme a bit more I wrapped a piece of lace ribbon around the center and secured it with a hot glue gun! Pop in some Gerber Daisies and Ranunculus and you’re ready to go.
The food table needed a back drop. We made this simple one out of two wood panels and one piece of cork board. We sprayed the wood panels with chalkboard spray paint and voila! With a few lace doilies and text it made for a pretty and simple back drop. Props to the Maid of Honor, Mama G for her fancy writing skills.
Details are important to me, especially the little ones. Here we made signs for the panty game and lingerie bridal shower favors. We even decorated the prizes with ribbon and lace. If you’re wondering about the panty game, we basically asked all her guests to bring a panty that best represents them (the guest) but in the bride’s size. As guests arrived they “dropped their panties” into a box and before opening her gifts my sister had to guess who brought which panty! It was hilarious if I don’t say so myself!
One of the things we really wanted at the bridal shower was a sexy selfie photo booth. We had some fun props, made a ribbon backdrop (see below) and made sure we asked people to use #ShowerDrea so we could find their photos on social media. To the left we included cards for guests to leave advice for the bride. In the center lies a stack of peal necklaces we used for a game. You know the one where you don’t say “wedding” or “bride.” The bridal team spent a few hours making those pretty, but it was worth it.
Finally the lingerie. There is definitely more than meets the eye, but we don’t want to ruin the surprise if you know what I mean! I will tell you that as my sister opened her gifts of love, lace and lingerie we hung them on a string behind her. It was amazing to see how many beautiful pieces she was gifted.
Overall, this was a beautiful and fun shower. It was such a blessing to see how loved my sister is, and by how many people. I don’t see her all the time, though I see her a lot, it was a blessing to see how many lives she has touched and how friends, family and co-workers want her to live a full and sexy life!
One a personal note, thank you to everyone who came to celebrate. And an even bigger thank you to the bridal party for making this day happen. It would not have happened without you!

Thank you, Bri! It was a fun theme. Lots of laughs indeed. It means so much to get a complement on the sign coming from you…you know since you’re a designer 😉

So fun! I’ve never been to a lingerie bridal shower.

It was my first time too, Maggie. The best part was when my sister was guessing who brought which panty. I think she got 1 out of like 20 right, haha.

I love the panty game idea! I can see how that would end up being hilarious entertainment. You did a beautiful job on the shower.
