During the month of May my family celebrates a lot of birthdays. One of the most important ones is my husband’s. Today we celebrate the man in our lives, our provider, the king of the castle! I write a lot of letters here, but I have yet to write one to him. I used to bring pen to paper all the time while we were dating. So much has happened since celebrating over 17 birthdays with him. I only hope each one has been special. I don’t have a lot to give nowadays, materially speaking, but I don’t think that’s what we look for as we get older. However, I do have some birthday wishes I’d like to share in hopes to encourage and inspire the birthday boy.
Join me and my family as we celebrate, Daddy!
My Birthday Wishes for You
Dear…we have gone through many ups and downs. Many celebrations and even more hang-ups. But we have managed to stay together through it all. See? We do always figure it out. God has blessed us with so much. And today is a reminder of how he has blessed us with you. Thank you for doing your best to keep this family safe, connected and well taken care of in every way. Thank you for being the firm voice and a strong leader, a great dad and a loving husband. Here’s to hoping all my wishes for you come true.
Wish #1. May you continue to reach and strive to reach your goals (and keep making more.) For as long as I’ve know you, your personal goals have been pretty consistent. And for the most part, you’ve achieved many of them, some 10 times over. Keep moving towards the things you find pure joy in. Do what you love. And one day, that black belt will be yours 😉
Wish #2. I wish you love and long lasting relationships. I wish this not only for us but with the kids (especially the kids,) with your parents, siblings and friends. Life is too short, and we can’t afford to not have strong love and relationships in our lives.
Wish #3. I wish you adventure and opportunity. I hope you take advantage of the craziness this family has to offer. I wish you will take risks and chances. Do things that awaken your soul, challenge you and make you think deeply. Take a hike, jump off a plane or take a new route to work or the gym. Get lost and find yourself. The you you’ve been longing to be. I’ll be there whether cheering you on or right beside you. And if you need a break from me, well too bad. Only kidding, just let me know. When opportunity knocks, answer. It doesn’t have to be a yes, or a no. It can be, “hold on” or “let me get back to you.” I’ve learned this from you. Whatever it is, I wish that life and God will take you on a new adventure, give you new meaning, or at least reveal your purpose and a clear path for an exciting journey.
Wish #4. I wish you will choose to count your blessings daily. Just today I was reminded of this. Remember that even though things may not being going your (our) way, God has a bigger plan for us, and we are still being groomed. Galations 6:9 says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” You are doing good! You’re are holding it down. I can only tell you so much how I feel, I just want you to believe it for yourself. You are good! It’s all good!
Wish #5. I wish you good health, strength and wisdom!
Man, there is so much more I want for you. You have so much potential. I hope you see that every day. Skies the limit. I know it’s cliche, but it’s true. I hope you know I still admire you. That I still love you. That I am still learning more about you and learning how to be there for you. Know that the kids love and adore you, even though they are always asking for me, they look up to you in a big way. They look for your approval, they respect you.
So, to the most humblest, strongest, most private person I know, Happy Birthday! My husband, my baby daddy, my Ryan!
Daddy
I’m going to comment on this only because you sent the link to me.
What can I say but thank you for always being there! This morning was a surprise, I thought that it was going to be the same. I wake up very early to go to the gym to work out, I come back home and get ready for work. But, this morning you guys were all awake and cooked me breakfast. I appreciated it, very much. I don’t ask for much but that was one of the best gifts I can receive from my wife and kids. Thank you dear, love you.

Haha. So what if I didn’t send it to you? Are you not reading this blog? LOL! I’m just kidding. I’m glad you were surprised. That was the whole idea. I hope you’re not mad for putting you on blast! I love you, dear!

So important to acknowledge the special people in your life especially on their bdays! My husband is the same, doesn’t expect much of anything at all, but I try to tell him everyday how much I love growing old with him. Love your bday wishes for your hubby!
Lora recently posted..The Time I Met the One and Only Queen Regine Velasquez Alcasid!

Thanks for reading, Lora. I agree, telling the them we love them daily is very important. Showing them is even more important.

Beautiful post, Angela! What a wonderful way to celebrate your husband’s birthday, and for your family to have this digital birthday card as a keepsake.
Mommy
Thank you, Suzette. I wasn’t sure if I’d write him anything online, since he’s such a private person, but I just had too. I was glad to hear after he finally read it that he enjoyed and appreciated it. I should probably print this out just in case anything happens 🙂
