It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to just sit and right you a letter (or blog post)! Even now, I am sitting in the kitchen rushing to get this one up so I can shower before you wake up for another feeding! Yes, at 26 months you are still breastfeeding! Some people think I’m crazy, but you’d literally go if I didn’t give it to ya!
This year has been a whirlwind…but seeing you makes it all better. We’ve had our ups and downs already. Working on teaching you how to be a good citizen and debating on the best way to raise and discipline you. Your are growing at such an exponential rate. Each day you have something new to offer to this world…to our world. You make everything bright and beautiful.
Tomorrow is your last day of music class. You love going to class and a few weeks ago you surprised me, and your teacher by filling in the blanks to the the Tiny Tim Poem:
I had a little FROG
His name was TINY TIM
I put him in the BATHTUB
To teach him how to SWIM
He drank up all the WATER (you skip this part and go straight to the next)
He ate up all the SOAP
And the he HOPPED to the TOP
With a BUBBLE IN THIS THROAT (You just say bubble throat)!
I nearly cried, actually I teared up way too much! But could you blame me, it was a proud Mommy moment. Mrs. Carol said, that the children already know the words, it’s just a matter of when they are going to say it! I knew you knew it!
Here’s a list of some of the things I’ve been meaning to share:
- You have officially stolen my shower power – more on that later.
- You say a bad word that starts with SH@! – still trying to ignore it and hope it goes away!
- You can pedal your bike!
- You’re still holding your bowels 🙁
- You love, love, love to help Mommy, especially in the kitchen
- You’ve developed a new love for Minnie Mouse, Barbie and Judy Moody!
- I love when you say, “Mommy, play Nana” and “Mommy read this!”
There is always so much more to tell that I will cherish and hold in my heart and memory bank for as long as I live and love! You and Daddy were sick for almost 2 weeks, so the thing I am most grateful for at this moment is your health!
I’m sorry you fell asleep before you got to eat your mini cupcake! Now you have a treat for tomorrow! I love you baby girl! I know Mommy has been busy lately, please be patient and know that I am not neglecting you. Sometimes Mommy’s have to work to, you’ll understand soon enough, but for now I want you to enjoy being baby – always smiling, crazy, cute, adorable baby!
Happy 26 months . As much as I want you to stay the way you are, I look forward the future adventures and lessons we will learn together.
xoxo,
Mommy
