I stare at Pinky all the time. When she’s sleeping, when she’s feeding, playing…just as any mother does. Last week, January 20, I noticed a distinct change in my little girl, at least for me it was. As I looked down at her face, holding her in my tired arms, she looked more mature. Notice I said looked!
This reminds me of when I look in the mirror day in and day out and don’t notice I’m aging until months down the road. Change is constant! Nothing happens over night, it doesn’t wait for us to catch up. I guess you can say it warns us, but when it comes to a growing, ever changing baby now toddler you have to watch carefully because it can all become a blur.
It’s a good thing I have this blog and the many photos I can look back on. Thanks to my family also for loving Pinky as much as I do to take hundred’s of photos of her when she is away from me. I have a happy memory bank just for Pinky. I am overwhelmed with joy by the love I have for her, and she has for me. A special bond, that changes daily, for the good.
Lord, help me to embrace each moment of change in Pinky’s life and in my own. Because as she changes, so do I physically, mentally, in every way.
Below are a few of my favorites taken by Auntie Didi!
Proud mommy moment: The photo of Pinky folding her hands, so precious, was a day I was so proud. We had gone to church for the first time in months (okay almost a year), I had been teaching Pinky how to pray and when Pastor Phoebe asked everyone to bow their heads and pray, she knew just what to do. At the end of the day, your children listen to you, they learn from you…and it pays off!
