Inspiring…Motivating…Educational – just a few words I can use to describe my first experience at a Moms in Business Unite Conference. It was invigorating to be surrounded by so many successful, empowering, and overall amazing women, who just happen to be moms!
As a first timer I was ready to soak in everything, as much as I could at least. From the moment I stepped onto the beautiful campus of University of San Diego, I knew I was where I needed to be.
Thanks to Randa Cote, President of Moms in Business Unite, I had the opportunity to attend the conference as a blogger and volunteer. As a blogger and volunteer I shared informational nuggets throughout the day via twitter, and assisted the speakers in my assigned track, Running Efficiently. This track’s underlying theme was planning and organization in writing, in social media, in developing your website and in the office. The track was ideal for moms who have their own business, but need to learn how to run it more efficiently.
Each session was packed with useful tips and information, providing immediate value to for any entrepreneur! In fact, a large majority of the information presented in this track could be applied to life in general. For example, Kathi Burns, professional organizer/image consultant and founder of addSpace to Your Life, shared with us a system to help get our papers organized!
Keynote speaker and author Lorin D. Beller of, From Entrepreneur to Big Fish, was by far one of the main highlights of the daylong conference. Beller, had everyone thinking about their intentions, and she gave so many examples of women who are making it big, and how they were doing it.
What I love about Moms in Business Unite is that they are all about providing the best tools to women in business on a variety of platforms — resources, speakers, topic sessions, and opportunities to grow. I have to congratulate, Lisa Savaouge of DippyCups, LLC for winning The Mompreneur Grant; and Patty Garegnani of Baby Strawberry for winning Best New Product or Service of the Year for her The Cavvy Cover™ – a nursing cover. And I have to give a shout out to all of the wonderful women I met and mingled with! Thank you for an overall amazing experience.

Sounds like a great conference! Will have to check it out in the future. You’re just making the conference scene the last two weeks, aren’t you?!
Mommy
Leah, it was a great conference! It has been a while since I’ve attended a good conference. I was so glad three great conferences feel in the same week. A little overwhelming, however, as a mommy, it was perfect to get all them out of the way. I don’t know when I’ll be able to attend another one. BlogHer will be in New York in 2012. I’m hoping to make it out there, and make a family vacation out of it! Thanks for reading! I definitely recommend Mons in Business Unite for all women entrepreneurs.
