A good friend of mine told me about Kid Ventures. No she wasn’t a Mom, but she was once upon a time employed by them. She loved working with the kids and spoke very highly of the facility. I knew I needed to go check it out.
Finally, the opportunity presented itself! Earlier this year, I celebrated my 29th birthday! No, I’m not afraid to tell you how old I am! I’m not too keen on birthdays, however, never have been. I try to look on the brighter side now that I have Pinky. Anyway, I was off to a bad morning because someone had forgotten to wish me a happy birthday. I went about my day waiting for this person to call me, text me, anything…I dropped off Pinky headed to work, and again, no birthday wishes…instead I was sent home because there was nothing for me to do. I was okay with that.
I couldn’t think of anything better to do than to hang out with my loving little girl! She always makes my day. She was my birthday present, and she is everyday, my gift from God! What made things even better was taking Grandma and Pinky to Kid Ventures for the very first time.
Pinky was only 13 months when she first visited. She seemed so tiny compared to all of the fun life size toys placed strategically throughout the space. We pretended to be pirates, we climbed the castle, road the fire truck, and tumbled on the mats. We shopped in the grocery store peeked our heads into the nursery to see the little babies and stuffed animals sleeping in their beds.
Pinky’s favorite thing was the little pink tyco car! My favorite was dancing with her and Grandma under the disco ball! I wish I had more photos for a full visual effect, but I just don’t! All I have is this story that when I was experiencing a bad (birth)day, Kid Ventures was there to help make it special for three generations, me, my little girl and my mom!
Thank you for turning my birthday frown, upside down! We are due for a visit, so I hope we win!
