Joshua 24:15 says, “as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”
Pinky is a blessing from God, and I am grateful to him everyday for trusting us with her precious life. As a Christian and believer in the Lord, it came natural to me to pray with Pinky everyday. Granite, it took me a while to remember to do it first thing in the morning, before we eat, and sometimes before we go to bed. But for as long as I could remember, I have been praying with and for Pinky on a regular basis.Even when she was small and didn’t understand a word that was coming out of my mouth I’d pray with her. Even when she falls asleep at my bosom I still pray. Even if we start eating, before praying, we stop and say a prayer.
When Pinky was getting to the point where she could understand concepts, maybe about a couple months ago, maybe longer…I can’t keep up anymore…I started asking her, “did you pray for your food?” or “did you say your prayers?” Until one day, just about 4 weeks ago, I told Pinky to pray with me and she surprised me by putting her hands together and bowing her head. I was so touched, I still am every time she does it. She now folds her hands and tries to keep them together until I say, “Aaaamen!” but sometimes I say long prayers and she gets anxious, then she just laughs. As a mother though I was and am still so proud at everything she is learning. It just goes to show that your children are never to young to be taught something, especially family values.
It’s so amazing to me, that Pinky Prays! I hope this post inspires you to remember to share your family values and to encourage your children to embrace them. Remember, a family that prays together, stays together…God bless!

That’s good, teach her early so she will continue to use the values as she continues to grow. 🙂
