There is still another week left to Race to the Fair! Remember it ends Monday, July 4th with a big bang, fireworks spectacular show!
If you haven’t read our Tips to save you time, money and sanity at the San Diego County Fair, check it out here before your visit. I have to say, we had so much fun at the fair this year! Last week, we had a double dose of it…at least me and Pinky did. Daddy joined in for one of the two days. Thanks again to San Diego Bargain Mama and the San Diego County Fair for providing our tickets for our final two visits to the fair this year! Truly and experience not to be forgotten.
Wednesday
Pinky and I picked Daddy up from work early to head over to the fair! We made sure to utilize our time wisely since this was a very rare occasion! Daddy doesn’t work too far from the fair so we were there is a jiffy, which meant decent parking and more time to spend enjoying the fair. It really was a perfect family day! Here are a few of highlights!
Our first stop once again was the California Cruisin’ Exhibit, 1) to use the bathroom and 2) because we love CARS!
Pinky enjoying the puppet show…
Enjoying another batch of scrumptious Australian Beer Battered Potatoes! A family fave and tradition…yum!!!
Although Pinky was too small for the rides, we were still able to enjoy the charm of Kiddie Land. She loved seeing the live elephants, watching the puppets, smelling the cotton candy, listening to the child’s play music and of course the Doggies of the Wild West Show…
Mommy and Daddy loved Pinky’s reaction to the roller coaster rides. It was priceless. She was so concerned for the people riding!
And, of course, we couldn’t leave without winning at least one stuffed animal or ending the day with an ice cream cone! Best part about winning this monkey is that it only cost $2. During the weekdays, games are only $1 to play!
On our way out, we ran into Grandma, Tia Locita, Auntie Chicka, Uncle Moe Moe and Kuya AJ…because of this she did not want to leave! She crankiness stemmed from her inability to take a long enough nap before picking Daddy up, but nonetheless, we got out of there at a decent hour, cleaned her up and put her bed…
We really had fun at the fair as a family. We were much more prepared the second time around. And, although we were afraid of going to the fair by ourselves (sans siblings and help from other people) it wasn’t all that bad. We, as parents, were able to handle it all…most of the time!
Thank you San Diego County Fair for a fabulous Family Day out!
