You may or may not recall, Pinky is going to music class once a week at Musical Children. Every week I can see that she is progressing and becoming more and more comfortable with the class dynamic.
This is a music class, but the kids learn so much more, like manners, how to share and how to clean up after themselves. Each child and parent, is encouraged to have two instruments, one for each hand. Again, this helps increase the learning ability. If one hand is without an instrument it just sits idle, and it’s important to exercise all parts of the mind and body when it comes to music. If us parents hold two, they will naturally follow.
So last week, when Carol was passing out the maracas, Pinky ran over to the bucket and she brought a total of FOUR back to me! I was so proud of her I nearly cried. She brought over a pair for her and a pair for me. This was such a breakthrough for her because it shows that she is understanding the concept that both mommy and baby need two maracas each! She’s still hesitant to let the instruments go before getting a new one, but she is still learning. Pinky really enjoyed class last week; and I get so excited watching her be excited about playing with her friends, looking at the books lining the walls and playing instruments!
I can’t believe we still have two more months left! I love this class and so does Pinky! We’re looking forward to signing up for the Fall! If you’re interested call 858-653-0320 and ask for Carol. Tell her The Pinky Project sent you 🙂

I know! She is, isn’t she! And I’m not just saying that because I’m her Mommy 😉 I have a video of her and Grandma dancing, but it is very short. I will try to capture some more video footage before her class is up.
