Seaport Village has been one of our families frequent hang outs. We’ve taken Pinky to several places, but we’ve probably been to Seaport the most. I think Daddy and I have begun to see this place in another light. I used to love going to Seaport Village as a teenager. As an active member in my church’s youth group, we’d have bible studies there during the warm summer nights. I didn’t go much as a child, at least I don’t remember. As I grew older, for a while I didn’t care too much for the place, except for the occasional breakfast at Buster’s Beach House, a rare jog along the water or the random brunches with the Perez Family.
This all changed when Pinky was born. There is just something about having a child around that makes everything so much better! I really have to thank Daddy, and of course Pinky, for reigniting my flame with Seaport Village. It was Daddy’s idea to go there for one of our first Family Day’s. Seaport is such a beautiful place, a small place, but that is the beauty of it because it makes you wish there was more. It keeps you wanting more and sometimes, if you let it, helps your imagination run free. Every time we go now, I feel like I discover something new.
The first thing we do after parking the car, is walk straight to the Upstart Crow Bookstore and Coffee House. They make a mean Mocha Blend and the ambiance is great – books, coffee, birds, vintage and modern – it’s one of our favorite places. One of my personal favorites is Urban Girl Accessories! It’s a beautiful boutique filled with (in their own words) “fun, trendy, kitchy, unique and special” items!
As for Pinky, she loves visiting the birds and watching the dogs walk by. What she did not like at one of our many visits to Seaport, was her Photos with Santa! My poor baby was terrified at the sight of him. Overall, she loves this place. We look forward to many more family visits to Seaport, one of San Diego’s precious gems.
So why all this talk about Seaport Village? Well, we have finally gotten our family portraits taken by the wonderful and talented, Charity Mae Remington of Charity Remington Photography. It’s been a long wait, but well worth it. When choosing a location for our shoot, I wanted a place that was special for us and I could not think of a better spot than Seaport Village. Charity did a fantastic job shooting our family. Please visit her blog to see some of our photos along with the rest of her outstanding work. Thank you, Charity for shooting our family photos. We love your work and we can’t wait to see the rest of the photos…which I will of course be uploading in a later post!
I’m especially excited to see share the photos of Pinky’s first ever ride on the Seaport Village Crown Carousel. Thanks to Charity, we will have this moment photographically documented! Many thanks again to Charity for not just taking our family photos, but for capturing a load of fun memories that will last a lifetime!
