Just last week Daddy disconnected DirectTV! I actually don’t care too much for it. If it’s there, it’s there and I take advantage of it. If it’s not, I can’t really tell. I will admit, I do miss watching my recordings of Days of Our Lives, 90210, Gossip Girl, Parenthood, Outsourced…oh my! You don’t realize how much TV you watch until it’s gone. Anyway, he didn’t leave us completely empty handed. Daddy ordered Netflix via our Wii just a few days later. But who wants to watch old movies and last seasons Secret Life of the American Teenager, I wanna watch the new stuff!
I can’t complain though, we are downsizing this year in an effort to save more money and to be more practical. I’m all for the cause of the greater good. We can use a bigger house and some vacation money. Besides, we have Pinky now and as she grows, so do her needs. I was wrong thinking things would get easier as she got older…the truth is there is a different challenge to face at EVERY stage in a child’s life! Again, I can’t complain! I love my little love bug so, so much – she’s sound asleep as I write this.
I will say that Life – DVR has helped me and Pinky get out of our daily routine. I was always worried that she was watching too much TV and not playing enough. Now I can monitor how many times she watches Barney – her favorite dinosaur – and still try to get her to watch other shows, play with her toys, read and go outside, which she loves. And, finally, I get to get that huge eye soar of a satellite out of our tiny back porch, thank GOD!
Bottom line —-> Life – DVR is fine with me. Besides, I can catch up on my shows online! So not the point, just thought I’d throw it in there!
Happy Fat Tuesday Everyone!
Daddy
The DVR was convenient at times. But now I hardly notice that it’s gone. We’ll give this whole internet TV a try and see what comes out of that.
