When the Doc said she’d see us in three months for her ONE YEAR visit, I almost broke down into tears. What? She’s going to be a year old in three months? Less than three months actually! And if that wasn’t enough, Doc advised me to start weening my little Pinky off of breastfeeding. She applauded me for keeping up this far, and I plan on continuing to breastfeed until she is a year old, but she also said that she needs to get used to eating more solids. She needs to become more dependent on eating food and not just milk. Although, breastfeeding is so hard on me, it’s so comforting for her. And to be honest, I didn’t know how much I’d miss breastfeeding her until today’s visit. The thought of her not depending on be to eat is heart wrenching in a way. Breastfeeding has helped me and Pinky build a tight and unbreakable bond. Today she followed me around like a little puppy tugging on my pant leg. She cried when I wasn’t in her sight and she wanted me to comfort her after her two shots. I almost forgot to mention that she got two shots today. I could tell that one of them hurt more than the others. Usually Pinky doesn’t cry, but today she wailed and teared. She ripped off her little Snoopy bandaids and just wanted me to hold her, then of course she wanted Daddy to console her. She felt better after she got an Elmo sticker.
Awww man, I am soaking in these days that our precious Pinky is a little, tiny baby! I do look forward to all of the new and exciting changes; however I think every parent at one point wishes that their baby would stay just that, a baby!
In retrospect, today was an amazing day just knowing that Pinky is in good health. Thank God, because that is all Daddy and I want as parents, for Pinky to grow up healthy and strong!
Now the question is: What will we do for Pinky’s First Birthday? Stay tuned to find out.

Trust me I felt the same way… And I hated when the 1 yr mark happened!! Then her 13 month jus passed! We wer walkin around walmart the other day and I was like hold my hand out she jus walked right passed me not even needing me to hold her no more. I hate it. Hehehe I’m so glad to hear that Lana bear is great and healthy. It still hurts me when she gets her shots. She got a bad reaction from the flu shot. But I know it’s gonna protect her later on.
