Oh My…it’s amazing what one cup of coffee from your parent’s cupboard can do. I am supposed to be washing and folding clothes…don’t worry, I am, but it’s taking me a lot longer now that I’m typing with purpose, catching up and surfing the web jumping from one page to the next. I figured I might as well share my findings.
I just finished feeding Pinky. It was so funny because she woke up next to Daddy and stared at him like, “you’re not Mommy!” Oh man, if only I had my Flip camera ready. She drank and is now fast asleep once again. I wish, I could do that.
Anyway, here are a few websites I came across that I bookmarked. Sites that had products and services that might be worth a try, in no particular order.
- Chickpeas – Quality Food for Growing Bodies – This site is pretty cool. I perused the site briefly and noticed that you need an account for certain things, but from what I could see they offer healthy pre-packaged menu items for kids. I went straight to the baby food section, it’s fresh and organic and you can buy in bulk! The combinations sound yummy for little tummies! I also noticed a tab for allergy and dietary needs. This is a need that parent’s who have children who are allergic to certain foods or are on a special diet can appreciate. Chickpeas also offers cooking classes and cooking parties.
- Stroller Strides – I’ve been thinking about checking this out for the longest time. I always thought it was out of my budget. Then I thought, ‘how can I work out while Pinky is trying to jump out of the stroller?’ Well, I will never know unless I try. I will try since the first class is free! You can pay per class or join as a member. No all I have to do is wake up early enough to be at Mission Bay by 9:30am!
- Happy Baby Food – Another baby food option! I’ve wanted so badly to make Pinky’s baby food. I have yet to buy a blender or food processor. I came across this website and remember seeing their products at Babies R Us. The meals are also ‘organic’ and their pouches in which the food comes in are SAFBABY Approved. They are lead free and BPA-Free! This is great because my Pinky loves to chew on everything. I hope all baby product packaging is eventually BPA-Free!
- Birthday Ever After – Pinky’s FIRST birthday is coming up in only 4 months! I really want to have a fairy party for her, but I’m afraid she’s not really going to appreciate it at this age. So I found this site and figured I’d bookmark it and keep it on the back-burner just in case, at least for future reference.
- The Day I Killed My Daughter – Okay, this sounds a bit graphic, but it is an interesting read. It is a short story that was entered in a writing contest on a site called Scinti (Latin: light, shine, spark, sparkle, twinkle). The story is about a woman who once had an abortion and talks about her ‘mistake’ and how deeply she regrets not being more educated to make such a life changing irreversible decision.
Okay, now I must fold clothes! Good night…or shall I say Good morning!
