“I looked at my watch and what did it say? No more minutes to play, okay! No more minutes!” This is part of a simple song Joann taught us during our Sign, Play and Learn 6 week session. I’m going to miss looking forward to taking Pinky to her class every Saturday morning. She had so much fun with the kids and she was starting to get comfortable on the mat, crawling and interrupting the teacher while she was talking.
This final week we reviewed clothing again. Joann opened the floor for questions and we were able to ask how to sign objects our children were interested in. We did this every week of course, but there were a lot more questions since this was the last session.
One thing I cannot forget is that we sang, “You Are My Sunshine” the Hullabaloo version. Like Baby Sign Language – Week 5 I was so happy because I sing this song to Pinky ALL the time! Again she was familiar with the song, she was interested and therefore she could relate…and we had most of her attention as Daddy and I sang and signed along.
Sign, Learn and Play with Joann Woolley was worth every penny and every moment. As a family learning to communicate together it was priceless and a very uplifting experience. It was great to see other parents willing to learn and play with their children. I am so happy we decided to take the class. We will definitely be signing up again soon. Pinky learned so much. As parent’s we learned so much too. Signing will continue to remain a part of our daily lives as we raise Pinky.
