Okay it’s been a while since this class. I’ll try to remember. Hmmm..I remember that I thought we going to learn about animals in week four, the class we missed, but when we reviewed the materials Joann started talking about dressing up which was a great surprise. We talked about changing diapers, sang a song about putting on clothes. Everything from shoes, socks, shirt, pants, skirt and even jacket.
During this session we also talked about putting signs together in a sentence or sequence. For example, lets “change” your “diaper” and then, we can “play.” The words in quotations would be the words to sign. I thought this was awesome and we were already beginning to practice this with Pinky.
If I remember correctly, Joann read and signed Good Night Moon! This is a book we read to Pinky almost every night so she was able to identify with it well. I was happy as Pinky’s Mommy and teacher because now I’d be able to sign and read the book to her or sign while Daddy reads.
If anything, I do remember that this was an exciting day! Daddy and I love learning to communicate with Pinky! Baby Sign Language is so beneficial. Really, it’s essential, as we grow as a family!
