I’m always browsing around the web for inspiration whether it’s for something to write about, a project, anything. Yesterday I came across this photo from Scrapbooking from the Inside Out a company dedicated to inspiring its members by creating kits for more efficient scrapbooking allowing scrapbookers to focus on the story they are trying to tell . This is a great site for anyone in need of creative inspiration.
Scrapbooking from the Inside Out is promoting their scrapbook kit for August which they titled, Discovery. The way they promote their kits is ingenious because they actual show samples of the design teams’ work using the elements provided in the kit. Going through the photos of samples was so emotional for me because I could really see their stories come through the pages. The pages were filled with emotion, life lessons, breakthroughs. They were honest, extremely creative and very real, nothing generic about them.
This particular photo caught my attention because of what was written by this mother.
All of my life I thought that life would be just me hitting the books, getting a high powered business career. Kids? Maybe. Me stay @ home? Nope This all changed, surprising me. I still loved learning. But being away from my kids wasn’t ideal to me. I wanted to be there for them Full time. My family encourages studies & career over kids. They mean well, but comments on how my smarts are wasted to becoming slaves to kids…it;s their loss. I found what I love to do. MotherHOOD.
After reading this, I felt so connected with her. I could relate to what she wrote, because it’s all I ever think about. It reminded me of how I saw myself in my life at this moment in time. My breakthrough discovery after reading this entry was that it’s okay to feel this way. It’s okay to be me – MOMMY – nothing more, nothing less. It is a purpose I know I can and will fulfill to the best of my God given ability. It also made me realize that, I’m not alone. Pinky has changed my life for the better. Loving her and having her in my life has taught me so much.
“I’ve held many roles in my lifetime, but Mommy + Wifey are by far the most challenging yet most rewarding roles ever! I ♥ my life and I wouldn’t change it for the world!” -aq
